Previously defined as “absence from disease,” the definition for health by the World Health Organization has expanded to include not only “absence from disease,” but also “the state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing.” As such we now see Health as a lifetime goal and target toward which we are always in pursuit and toward which we build excitement and exuberance.
The state of optimal mind, body, spirit, and soul. The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) defines wellness as “an active process through which people become aware of and make choices toward a healthier existence.” Wellness includes conscious participation, choice, and developing strategies that include balancing the integral (all dimensional) aspects of ourselves (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, social,
and the divine).
Guiding, assisting, supporting, helping, & empowering. Health coaching includes guiding individuals toward a healthier lifestyle. Supporting individuals to make changes that improve health and wellbeing. I assist individuals adjusting to a healthy lifestyle by helping to identify behaviors and thought processes that hold them back while introducing and reinforcing healthy behaviors in daily life. I empower others to construct and solidify a positive mindset around health and wellbeing.
Two fundamentals of coaching are self-actualization (reaching full potential) and self-improvement. We explore our inner worlds. In the coaching mindset, the coach and client continually work on health improvement always targeting an advantageous behavioral and mindset change. We work on the positive side of life, always building and creating. For example, “Eat more fruits and vegetables, and drink enough water.” We work toward becoming our healthiest, brightest, most well selves.” We work toward fulfilling our fullest potential while knowing
this destiny may not be completed in this lifetime.
This tree presents the core components of
health and wellness coaching.
I offer these specialized services.
As our world becomes more complex and confusing it is essential to embark on a journey of self-discovery while meeting mental health challenges along the way. Knowledge of interpersonal neural biology helps in understanding mental fitness and emotional stability. Yet, many effective practices regarding stress reduction, confidence building, habit intervention and others have been put forward putting mental optimization and emotional regulation on the target board for potentially millions.
We are born into a world that hosts multiple challenges to our health and
wellbeing. In a world where top scientists vie to create chemical compositions of irresistible
tastes that may not be so healthy, we must remain diligent in defending our good health. Proper
nutrition and exercise are paramount as well as weeding out limiting ideas and seeding, or
solidifying, beliefs that allow us to connect in a broader reality called “limitlessness”. We are
then able to make the inner and outer connections that support optimal health and wellness.
This segment relies on our own conscious input into a life plan. This includes
self-awareness, personal growth, and a compelling vision. We coach individuals to be optimal, self-correcting, self-generating,
and to be able to deal with whatever the river of life presents. It also includes ensuring the conditions under which one can thrive.
Working with professionals, the highly
knowledgeable indigenous healers, and those of wise council is what we call Integrative
Medicine. It includes, but is not limited
to the following:
Light/Electrical/Magnetic Stimulation; Acupuncture; Medicinal Plants and other products;
Mindfulness and Spiritual Practices; Psychotherapy; Health and Wellness Coaching; Yoga;
Reiki; Probiotics; Essential Oils, and much more. As a complementary practitioner I rely on
western medicine as the prime basis of my personal health care practices and suggest
the same for my clients.
I work in conjunction with and under the recommentation of doctors and
other health care professionals.
Smart goals are to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timebound. This is the basis of our goals. I also like
to put this procedure into a plan called WalksOnWater (WOW) Transition Plan. It runs as follows: Choose; Clarify;
Envision; Create; Execute; Evaluate; Recalibrate; Adjust; Re-Execute; Attain; and Follow-up. With the help of these two methods results manifest sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. We always move forward. We aim for greater health and
balanced well-being. We make sure to include all our parts.
